Volunteer tasks include inspecting donated over-the-counter items for expiration dates or damage, sorting items by category, grouping like items, and packing sorted products into labeled boxes for storage and distribution. Additional tasks may include fulfilling orders, counting items for inventory, repackaging products for more efficient storage, and restocking shelves in the free store.
This is an semi-annual pampering community event, where Just Do It Movement provides free haircuts and hairstyles, meals, and essential items to our unhoused neighbors. ALO will provide staffing, logistical, and food service support.
Volunteers will provide supplies and pack individual bags to support Stolen Lunches' Give Blessing Bags - 2000 Bags Day event. Stolen Lunches supplies unhoused neighbors with nonperishable items, hygiene products, clothes, bus passes, resource cards, and letters of encouragement each month.
ALO will partner with Common Cause NC to provide voter education for the community in preparation for the midterm elections.
